Actress/singer Julianne Hough broke down in tears after her beloved pet dog fell ill and was admitted to a vet's emergency room at the weekend (04-05Jun11).
The country singer and former Dancing with the Stars champion flew into a panic when her Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Lexi, became sick on Saturday.
Hough took her puppy to a veterinarian's clinic and admits she was overwhelmed with worry as she waited for her dog to be treated.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "First time I legitimately bawled my eyes out in years. Being a helpless parent is the worst thing in the world!"
The blonde beauty later reassured fans the canine is on the mend, adding: "All is well in Lexi land! Thanks for all of your sweet messages! It means the world!"
Meanwhile, her boyfriend, American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, offered Hough his support by accompanying her on the unexpected vet trip.
He 'Tweeted', "Made a trip to the animal emergency room over the weekend... All is ok. Thx (thanks). Upset stomach!"
