Non-Profit Management Symposium | Fundraising Firms

The Somerset County Business Partnership, in collaboration with the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce, Hunterdon United Way, the United Way of Northern New Jersey, and TD Bank will present a morninglong symposium Business Perspectives in Non-profit Management. The event is scheduled for Friday, June 3, 2011 with registration and continental breakfast from 7:30 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. and the program running from 8:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. at the Holiday Inn Select, 111 West Main Street, Clinton, New Jersey.

The program will bring proven non-profit leaders and board members together with experts in various non-profit related disciplines to share and discuss strategies and practices that will generate increased clarity of thinking and action in the continually changing non-profit environment and marketplace. The session is designed for organization leaders, board members, staff, and volunteers.

Morning keynote speakers will be Linda Czipo, Executive Director of the Center for Non-Profits, New Jersey?s statewide association for the non-profit community. During her 22-year tenure she has spearheaded the Centers advocacy work to protect non-profit advocacy and lobbying rights; worked closely with State officials to enact comprehensive revisions to New Jerseys charitable fundraising laws; and successfully mobilized broad-based coalitions of non-profits around a variety of issues.

Breakout sessions will focus on Building Capacity Through Formal Collaboration Merger; Understanding Your True Costs; Governance Issues Around Usage of Social Media; Facilitated Best Practice Sharing of Successful Fund Raising Ideas; and Does Your Board Need A Therapist? Unlocking Your Organizations True Potential.

Luncheon speaker will be Phil Solarno, President and Chief Development Officer at the Children?s Specialized Hospital Foundation. He has worked successfully with the Hospitals leadership team and both the hospital and foundation boards of trustees to increase revenue and expand the Foundations donor base.
