The latest example of this happened in The Roar, an Australian sports site, when a writer suggested venerable golf scribe Lawrence Donegan had dropped a bomb: that Adam Scott was recently married.

The author then begins wondering why Scott never told anyone he was planning to get married. The problem? It was a Scot, not Scott.
Martin Laird was recently wed and talked about it after his opening round of 65 at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. After all, he did win at Bay Hill.
Here?s what Donegan actually wrote.

It?s a simple mistake, but lest the single ladies of the world be grief stricken, Adam Scott is not wed.
